Anyone can become a licensed amateur radio operator.
There is no age limit. A technical background is NOT required. You don't even need to
learn the morse code!
In order to promote the growth of ham radio Metrocrest Amateur Radio Society, and the McKinney Amateur Radio Clubs sponsors classes to teach the fundamentals
required to pass the test. The test is
given by fellow amateurs immediately following the class.

Cost of the Class is $50. This includes the License manual, handouts, and VE Test fee.
